"Side to Side" is a song by Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj. The song was released on Grande's third studio album, Dangerous Woman, and as a part of the countdown leading up to the album's release. Nicki hinted on Twitter that there will be an accompanying music video for the song.

Background

On April 7, 2016, Ariana shared a snippet of the song via her Snapchat. Three days later the tracklist for Dangerous Woman on iTunes was updated  to show five explicit songs on the album. On April 16, 2016, Ariana revealed the tracklist for her upcoming album, and "Side To Side" was revealed to be one of the explicit tracks. In an interview, Ariana announced that "Side To Side" would have a reggae vibe to it.

On May 14th, 2016, Nicki Minaj hinted that the song will be receiving a music video through a tweet, suggesting that the song will be a single from the album. Ariana tweeted that she was counting down the days until she saw Nicki again, possibly for filming the music video that was hinted.

Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the music video made its official premiere on American clothing brand Guess's website on the night of August 28, 2016. It surpassed 100 million views on September 19, 2016, making it Grande's twelfth Vevo-certified music video (reaching over 100 million hits) after "Into You" and Minaj's twenty-fourth Vevo-certified music video.
