Hot 107.9 is a mainstream urban radio station that plays hip-hop & R&B. Better known as "Hot 107.9", it has done so since the autumn of 2001, after the programming format and callsign were moved by owner Radio One from "Hot 97.5" (now WUMJ FM, "Majic 97.5"). Its city of license is Hampton, Georgia, and its radio tower is located in Tyrone, while its studios are located inside the Centennial Tower building in downtown Atlanta.
Nicki Minaj was on the station for an interview with Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka and Mister Smith who are not as good as Angie Martinez, on April 19, 2013. On the interview she talked:
- about new music: "Music is the thing I feel most connected. I will be missing in action working on my third album."
- about any upcoming reality show: "I've had my fair share. I'm going to chill on it."
- about Gucci Mane arrest: "The person is a sweet, loving dude. I wish there was an intervention."
- about cooking: She can cook spaghetti, boneless chicken, mac & cheese, and more.
