Bed of Lies is a song by Nicki Minaj from her third studio album, The Pinkprint. It features guest vocals from Skylar Grey. The song serves as the fourth single off the album. The song was written by Onika Maraj, Holly Hafermann, Daniel Johnson, Jeremy Coleman, Breyan Isaac, Vinay Vyas, and Justin Davey. The production was managed by Alex da Kid, Kane Beatz, TODAY, Breyan Isaac, and JMIKE. The song was released on November 16, 2014 as a digital download, impacted Rhythmic radio on November 18, and was suppose to be impact Top 40 (Pop) radio on January 13, 2015 before being cancelled.

The song debuted at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming her 56th entry. In doing so, she became tied in 3rd place with Madonna and Dionne Warwick for females with the most Hot 100 entries. The song has been certified Platinum in Australia, Sweden, and Norway & Gold in New Zealand.


Nicki and Skylar previewed the song on November 9. Nicki confirmed that it would be the next single off the album. On November 15, 2014, Saturday Night Online tweeted that they would premiere the song in full on their radio show that night at 9PM. It premiered like promised. At midnight, November 16, it was released on iTunes as a digital download. It impacted Rhythmic radio on November 18, 2014, and was suppose to impact Top 40 (Pop) radio on January 13, 2015 before being cancelled.

Music VideoEdit

Nicki was on a 4 day set the first week for November. Most assumed that she only shot a video for her single, "Only". However, on November 16, 2014, one of the producers confirmed on Twitter that the music video had already been shot. As of January 2015, Nicki has not made mention of the video.

Live PerformancesEdit

Nicki Minaj and Skylar Grey premiered a minute of the song at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Award in Glasgow, Scotland. They performed the song in full for the first time at the 2014 American Music Awards. Nicki also performed the song with Skylar Grey multiple times on shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
